Abstract

This article examines the formation of the sign theory in Uzbek and Russian linguistics, its scientific foundations, and stages of development. The study demonstrates that the sign theory is aimed at analyzing how attributes and quality features of objects, phenomena, and processes are represented within the semantic system of language. The research also analyzes the sign concepts in Uzbek and Russian linguistics, their main schools, methodological approaches, and the interaction of theoretical perspectives.
