Abstract

Arterial hypertension is about twice as common in patients with diabetes mellitus as in the general population. The incidence of arterial hypertension among patients with diabetes mellitus ranges from 20 to 60% depending on the criteria used for elevated blood pressure (BP) and the type of diabetes mellitus.
