Abstract

This article examines the theoretical and practical foundations of developing leadership competencies in preschool education management. As educational institutions face rapid and far-reaching change, the responsibilities of preschool leaders have grown well beyond traditional administration, now encompassing strategic thinking, adaptability, and the capacity to drive meaningful innovation. The study surveys contemporary methods, forms, and tools for building leadership competencies — including continuous professional development, mentoring systems, and digital learning environments — and gives particular attention to how competencies are assessed and monitored over time. It also explores how organizational and individual factors interact to shape leadership effectiveness. The findings affirm that a systematic, sustained approach to leadership development is both necessary and achievable, and offer practical recommendations for improving management quality across preschool institutions.
