Abstract

Environmental degradation and climate change have become major global challenges, requiring effective policy responses from governments worldwide. One of the key economic instruments used to address these issues is environmental taxation. Environmental taxes are designed to reduce pollution, encourage efficient use of natural resources, and promote sustainable economic growth. This article examines the role of environmental taxes in the development of a green economy. It analyzes theoretical foundations, international practices, and the economic and environmental impacts of such taxes. The study concludes that environmental taxation is an essential tool for achieving long-term sustainability and supporting the transition to a green economy.
