Abstract

This article scientifically analyzes the formation of the tax system in Uzbekistan, its main principles, and its role in economic development. In recent years, as a result of tax reforms implemented in the country, a reduction in the tax burden, simplification of tax rates, and improvement in business conditions have been observed. In particular, in 2023, the share of tax revenues in gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 11.5%, and the consistent growth of tax revenues in subsequent years demonstrates the effectiveness of the country’s economic policy. It is also noted that corporate income tax, value-added tax (VAT), and excise taxes constitute the main part of state budget revenues. Through the tax system, the state regulates economic processes, improves the investment climate, and expands opportunities for financing social sectors. Overall, an effective tax policy is an important factor in ensuring sustainable economic growth in the country
