Abstract

This study examines the architectural features of traditional foothill residential buildings in the Tashkent region during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries using archival materials and field investigations. The research analyzes the planning, construction techniques, and artistic characteristics of dwellings in the village of Oblik (Angren District). The findings reveal distinctive architectural elements, including kush sinch wall construction, kashgarcha windows, verandas, and climate-responsive spatial organization. The results indicate the influence of regional building traditions while highlighting unique local characteristics. The study emphasizes the importance of documenting and preserving these increasingly endangered buildings and provides a scientific basis for future conservation and restoration of Uzbekistan’s vernacular architectural heritage.
