Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of theories and examples in which the meaning and argument relations of the verb are fully reflected in the compositional analysis of the functional-semantic field of English verb predicates. Accordingly, the verb is the semantic beginning of the sentence, the element that determines the basic semantic structure of the sentence. The central meaning of the ditranzitive construction is related to the meaning of the successful transfer of an object to the recipient, and the referent of the subject causes this transfer to be influenced by agens. The recognition of subtle semantic discrepancies between coherent syntactic (lower categorical) frameworks is also focused on the existence of a strong correlation between the meanings of verbs and the syntactic frames in which they can occur.
